Persuasion

Willa Knight: Dweller? Bad-ass? Notorious pet to five magical beings? In Blesswood, there are rules, and someone is trying to teach her how to follow them. The only problem is Willa. Which shouldn’t be anything new, since she has been a problem since birth—something her pseudo-sister Emmy would agree on. So it definitely shouldn’t be new … but it is. Because things are sta...

I told myself over a year ago not to pick up a book that's part of an ongoing series until it's complete and yet I obviously didn't listen when I picked the first book in this series up. Now I'm stuck waiting very impatiently AGAIN for the third book to come out. I don't know why I do it to myself, self-inflicted torture is bollocks.

Anyway, I loved this book, not quite as much as the first but still more than a lot of books I've read lately.

Anyway, I loved this book, not quite as much as the first but still more than a lot of books I've read lately.

    I have a few niggles -

First - Willa was verging on just plain stupid rather than a bumbling idiot for parts of this book. Her clumsiness is all well and good, but it went too far for me this time and made her seem almost simple minded.

Secondly - the mounting sexual tension is driving me insane! Why can't she just get freaky with all of them right now! I don't care if they take turns or its a free for all. I want that. There's no need to pick, just be a greedy bitch Willa and have all the Abcurse brothers.

Lastly - nothing actually happens plot-wise until past the 50% mark. Now, this didn't bother me a great deal because these books have been so smooth and easy to read that just watching their interactions are entertaining, but it did mean that when things started to kick in, it was crammed in and I could have done with it being longer.

I'm still giving this 4.5 stars because I love all 5 brothers and the trainee god, power aspects going on. Plus that ending, I really didn't want to finish reading this so quickly and again, I want the next book now. Having to wait is shit.

I neeeeeeed this book. Like yesterday. I can't even deal with how long I'll have to wait

Update: Like the first book, there were more than a few passages that had me in hysterics. I can't help it. I love Willa. She's not the heroine we wanted, but I think she's the heroine we need. I'm patiently awaiting the third book, minus the patiently.

4.5 stars!! I just love Willa, she’s just so ridiculously funny and likeable. I love how she gives out funny nicknames “Fakey” “Stabby” “Slappy” “Mountain man”, so funny. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what crazy thing Willa would do next. The guys, I can’t choose between any of the Abcurse brothers, love them all. This book has me convinced that Willa will not choose between them either, she’s gonna end up will all of them.

This book was filled with lots of twists and turns, and I was left with so many questions and eager for book three. I was a little confused by that impromptu obstacle course that Willa and the guys had to go through, I thought that was pointless and the scene where the gods came down to Blesswood was a bit anticlimactic, I was expecting more form that scene with the gods.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how Willa will deal with the fact that she’s more than just a dweller and I’m hoping we get to see another dweller uprising in book three. Overall great read this book left me anxiously awaiting book three, I need more Willa and her guys.

Baddass Extraordinaire. Best Dweller in the World.

What makes Willa so great? Well....

She's not good at many things, but she excells at getiting in the way. Especially if its something dangerous

So for those of you who were concerned... Don't worry

you loved in the first book

Welcome back to the world of the Gods. Dwellers are servants who hope and pray to get sent to Blesswood Academy so they can work their entire life away for

that happen to be born with abilities.

For real, I love this world for so many reasons and this book reminded me of that with its world-building specifically the different creatures and a HIERARCHY of the gods.

She is still a badass trying to fight and ending up hitting her own team because....honestly hun what a clutz. This was an inherent part of her personalty.

    (hello bella from twilight)

And Willa gets herself in the most ridiculous situations. Like being stranded in a floating platform in the sky. With a god who has anger issues. Who she may or may not have kicked in the balls.

So we have Willa getting in some hilarious situations and the guys are there. This book definitely had more

Not that Willa would ever admit she has feelings.

    Picture this:

I just love it so freaking much

Though I mean this book isn't for everyone. Some people don't like

So if thats you, first stop following me and secondly read this book anyways.

It was also great seeing the relationships developed. They had

from the first books that carried over and honestly just

. And they helped each other!! The guys made Willa more crazy outgoing and protective. And willa in gneeral made them more crazy

This review was a little 2 ranty and ravey but honestly this book was a breath of fresh air. Characters I gave a shit about, interesting plot developement

    And can i just say...

    Just so good. Definitely recommend.

I loved Trickery and had ridiculously high expectations for Persuasion. Expectations so high that I honestly couldn't expect them to be met. Never underestimate the JJ's. Persuasion is excellent, excellent, excellent. Without a doubt, I have never loved a lead female like I love Willa with her ridiculous (in the best way) inner monologue, and the Abcurse's are beyond male perfection. Jane Washington and Jaymin Eve are two talented writers individually. Together, they are brilliant.

    The book pick

I loved Trickery and had ridiculously high expectations for Persuasion. Expectations so high that I honestly couldn't expect them to be met. Never underestimate the JJ's. Persuasion is excellent, excellent, excellent. Jane Washington and Jaymin Eve are two talented writers individually. Together, they are brilliant.

The book picks back up at Blesswood. Willa is tied to the 5 Abcurse brothers, so she has to be with at least one at all times. She has moved into their rooms, takes classes with them. They have accepted her completely as one of the family. She has turned parts of their lives upside down; she still gets herself into the most ridiculous situations with her clumsiness, her impulsiveness, her uniqueness. She also entertains them completely, brings out a protective quality in them, and opens their eyes to the world beyond their own existence.

This book expands our knowledge of Topia, the gods, and the curse of Rau. There's so much going on. Willa has everyone's focus which puts her in danger. The Sols resent her for not knowing her place, the Dwellers are starting to rebel wanting a life more like hers, and the gods are up to no good. Each group is planning and plotting and Willa is caught up in their plans. She blunders her way through each new threat; sometimes with pure luck, sometimes with her own brand of ingenuity, sometimes with the strange new powers she sporadically has, and sometimes with the direct intervention of the Abcurses. It takes a lot to keep Willa in one piece.

We also get more of Willa and the brothers. Her relationship with each one is unique. Yael, Siret, Rome, Aros and Coen are all complete individuals. She needs each one in a different way and they respond to her distinctively. It's slow moving, but the bond is deepening. The connection goes beyond the curse and when tested, the brothers show that they want Willa in their lives. The emotion they show for her when she's been in danger or missing gives me the warm fuzzies. I want more! There's a bit of kissing, lots of touching, and plenty of nakedness, despite the pact and the new rule. Again, I want more!

It's clear the world is changing. Blesswood itself is on the edge of pandemonium. The gods, Sols, and dwellers are all going to have to make changes, and the change won't be easy. Willa has triggered some of this and will be swept up in the turmoil, no doubt. The Abcurse's now have an idea about Willa's role in this discord, and at the very end provoke her to get their proof. What they prove changes everything once again. Willa's life just got even more complicated. She thought that she didn't fit in before, now she know's where to place herself (if not what to call herself), but she can't fulfill her new role for the sake of the world. She's definitely in over her head, but the Abcurse's will be right there with her.

This book is brilliant. Original, well written, funny, sexy, suspenseful. JJ's I can't wait for the next one!

    First Read: ★★★

: I enjoyed this more than my first read, but it's still not as good as the Seraph Black series by Jane Washington. That series has so much depth and the romances are done much better. Maybe it's because that series is complete and this one is on-going, so it feels more satisfying? This one is much more light and ridiculous, not as much drama, not as much world-building. The Abcurses are totally swoon-worthy. Willa is 18, so not sure why they can't push the envelope a bit more with the romance. The amount of times she rubs up against one of them or "accidentally" smooshes her face against their lips or has a wet t-shirt on (or in her bra) is over the top silly. It still feels more frustrating than steamy. I'm curious to see if Willa will get her HEA and if the authors will choose one or none or all. I hope all! :P

I should have known the follow up to a book I lurved and five-starred wouldn't be as good. It always happens. This wasn't horrible, but it felt too much like a run-on of book one. There wasn't anything that set this one apart. The actual plot didn't even really begin until about 40%.

Willa's cutsy clumsiness was more irritating and she became a Special Snowflake, which doesn't usually bother me, but it was obviously coming. Also, the romance with the Abcurse brothers is infuriating. How much more kissing and hugging are we going to have to see? Either take it to the next level or drop it. It's like filler now. Oh, Willa's being hugged. Again. She's trapped in a wall of hot muscly men, being protected. Again. I love the idea that she could possibly be in a relationship with all five of them. It's kind of unique and controversial. But it's like the authors don't have any intention of actually going through with it. So, either pick one or drop the romance completely. I'm tired of being strung along. It's not cute anymore. :/

I pretty much knew what was going to happen

. It was obvious. I think it's kind of cool, though. There were some highlights... like the scene with the pantera, the obstacle course, the God of Neutrality...

There is potential with some of the plots, like the dweller rebellion and the possibility of changing the status quo. There are some things I would like to know more about, like how the process of the sols becoming gods after death works and more about the servers.

I hope the next one has more substance and it's not just another run-on with the same things happening. :/

My review of the first book,

    .

New favorite Abcurse is Siret, Mr. Trickery. I like a guy with a decent sense of humor.
