TBH, most of my disappointment comes from Vlad. He's old school, there's no question but that's just not enough for me anymore. Maybe if I was reading a Carpathian book, I would feel different. Seriously, I'm sure I'm in the minority but I just couldn't wrap my head around it.

Leila, on the other hand, was great! She was able to adapt and move forward...and she was always thinking of Vlad, wanting the best for him. It was heartwarming and made me really want to pull for her! And then kill Vlad when he kept being a douche to her! Okay, okay...I'll get off my bandwagon...for now.

Vlad and Leila are still trying to find Mircea and knowing that he has sorcery powers leads them to Mencheres for help. That in turn, leads them to one of my all time favorite characters, Ian.

Oh Ian, I have missed you so...our little naughty ginger. He really loves to mix things up and he had a lot of fun with Vlad...maybe too much fun! (Thank goodness for Leila!) And Wow...I was a little taken back by his loyalty but loved it all at the same time.

However, things with Ian can only go so far and through some information, Leila is able to get some help from her "roots". I really enjoyed those scenes and I'm a little upset we didn't get more of that and with Gretchen.

When it's time for the big drama, we get to meet another interesting character and you can almost predict right away where that's going to go.

Things wrap up pretty easily and finally,

everything gets taken care of it. Well, except for one teensy tiny bit.

There's an epilogue, but again, it's pretty short and not enough of Vlad and Leila. I was happy to see a

warming from Vlad...he definitely has him moments. His protectiveness is super sexy and he certainly knows what to do in the bedroom so there is that.

Next up...IAN's BOOKS!!!! I'm just a tad excited in case you couldn't tell and what a great title, Night Rebel....LOL, that's for sure. Now we just have to wait....but, here's a quote from his craziness to tide you over:

I have been reading Jeaniene Frost for a very long time, and I've loved and devoured everything she has touched. This book was long awaited, and pushed back very many times for personal reasons (seriously, this book has the best acknowledgments I've ever read, and it made me love and respect Jeaniene even more so), but unfortunately this book didn't work for me at all.

Now I'm questioning myself and wondering if I've just grown out of this series/world. I think back to a lot of books I've given five stars and loved when I was young and in high school and college, and I'm pretty confident they wouldn't be five star reads if I reread them. When I was younger, I would ignore a lot of problematic shit that I no longer will stand for, and I felt like this book had a spotlight on Vlad and his problematic behavior constantly.

I used to love Vlad, I even wanted Cat to get with him over Bones, but the way he acted in this book was so unacceptable and inexcusable. Again, this really scares me about books I've rated in the past, because Vlad was controlling, belittling, secretive, and hurt many people in this book, including Leila, the love of his life and our main protagonist. It was gross, Vlad was gross.

And Vlad forcefully lying and stopping Leila from participating in the battles that directly impacted whether or not she lived was super fucking annoying. I mean, one time? He's protective and maybe scared. Two times? Okay, he didn't learn his lesson! Three times? This is getting old, really fast. One hundred times?

Also, another thing I used to love about this world was the amazing, top tier sex scenes (anyone else remember the shower scene from

?) And I'm not sure if it is because of Vlad's problematic grossness, or what, but the sex in this book wasn't even good. It was forced and unnecessary and I couldn't care less.

Beyond everything else I can say and complain about, the biggest issue with this book is that it feels like a prequel setting up for Ian's book, which will probably be super interesting, but it made Leila and Vlad's conclusion feel extra bad.

Ian is a very old and powerful vampire we are first introduced to in the

series. Like most of the badass vampires in this world, Mencheres sired/turned/made them, therefore Ian is very, very loyal to him, which he proves unquestionably in this book.

Ian is also a very big partier, who has no desire to settle down anytime soon. Ian was honestly giving me huge Elliot from

vibes, which makes me so beyond words excited! Like, we need all the pansexual representation we can get, and if Jeaniene is going to showcase that, I'm so here for it and will ignore this last Vlad and Leila book.

I'm just hoping that we weren't already introduced to Ian's, very female, romantic interest at the end of this book. All signs point to "yes", but I'm still hoping. And if she has to be his love interest, let him have a lot of fun with both males and females before he turns into the protective alpha male who only wants to marry and sex up his brand new love interest.

Another side character that got a really big part, and I'm guessing will have a spin-off too, is Maximus, who used to be my favorite character. I mean, I obviously still like him, but the new relationship path he is choosing to take feels very strange to me, for many different reasons. Maybe I need to sit on this information for longer, but as of now I am not a fan of this forced matchup.

I think another important thing I need to say about this book is that it does have a Native-American depiction that I'm not sure is correct. This book, and all the twists and turns, are heavily influenced by Cherokee people, which I am not sure is an accurate representation. Reading these chapters made me a little uncomfortable, but, again, I am not a Cherokee Native and I have never lived on a reservation before, but I just thought I would state that this could be a problematic depiction.

All in all, this book didn't work for me. It feels really bad, because I used to love this series and world so much, but I have to be honest with myself. I also owe it to everyone that takes the time to read my reviews to point out problematic and hurtful things. If you've followed this series for as long as I have, I hope you enjoy this closure on Vlad and Leila's chapter, and I hope we all aren't disappointed with Ian's new beginning.

There are some fun moments between Vlad and Layla, but, honestly Ian kind of stole the show in this one. To me this read more like a prequel to Ian’s book(s) rather than a Night Prince Novel. New plot twists, storylines, and changes in current characters were introduced, but, I felt like I was left hanging on a couple of the storylines. Vlad and Leila bounced from one dramatic situation to another, involving magic, demons, and witches and it was just too much at times for my liking.

In this book Layla discovers and embraces a newly discovered heritage power and her roots. Unfortunately, Layla’s hated inner blasted voice is back and just as irritating as ever, as is her constant references to her “carnival days”.

Vlad groupies (myself included!) don’t despair; Vlad is just as swoon worthy as ever (maybe even

swoon worthy) as he does everything in his formidable power to find a way to break the spell Layla has been saddled with. His blind devotion and love for Layla is the best part of this book, the lengths he will go to, to save Layla is truly a thing of beauty.

I’m eager for the next series

will bring to us featuring a favorite character, bad Vamp Ian (and I’m hoping Veritas, who I personally think will be a fun, entertaining match for this delicious naughty Vampire), and hopefully we’ll get answers to unresolved storylines in this book.

I did not like this. Leila and Vlad are the WORST couple ever. Incredibly immature. Constantly keeping secrets from each other. They act like children. Vlad's complete personality transplant from the Night Huntress series continues here, as it did in all the previous books. Worst spinoff ever. So glad it is over. Neither had any growth in four books.

SO MANY SECRETS. I have to conclude that it is just a cheap and lazy plot device recycled over and over. Vlad doesn't tell Leila what his plans are, then Leila doesn't tell Vlad when major things happen. Leila makes decisions for people she has no right to then acts like a baby when she doesn't get her way. Vlad acts like a baby when people dare to do things he didn't order them to. The both of them are actually perfect for each other. They are both immature control freaks.

The plot was MEH. Leila gets even more speshul powers. The supporting characters were much better. It provides a walk down the

as Ian and Mencheres show up and play significant side roles. An "elder" vampire shows up and apparently is going to be a major part of a new spinoff series with Ian. Sigh.

I am offended at how Ian was portrayed in this. Yes, we know he is an arrogant ass, anything goes with him, no rules, flippant, doesn't care about anyone but himself. But he still came off as rakishly charming in the Night Huntress books. Here, he's almost embarrassing, although Leila and Vlad certainly aren't the right audience for his humor and personality. I am going to skip his series because I am frankly terrified of what Jeaniene Frost is going to do to him. I can't handle the dismantling of another all-time favorite vampire book boyfriend. I'm afraid he is going to be Harris'd like Eric Northman was in the Sookie books.

I'm going to have to remember the good old days and move on. So sad.

Don't expect any sexy times either. There was zero chemistry. Worst couple ever. SMH

I don't know, but I read the three books previous to this, so I might as well read the conclusion.

I didn’t really know anything about this series, but four days later I read the entire series back-to-back and I am happy and sad for the final book. I could have read Vlad and Leila forever and something tells me this isn’t the true end. I hope to get little glimpses of them in future books.

I felt like each book in the series was really different and it’s no surprise the final book was a little different too. At least in my opinion. Whereas the first books focused on the vampire world, I felt like this one focused on the magical world and I couldn’t be happier about that.

Into the Fire was fun, refreshing and I love the strong bond and relationship between Vlad and Leila. They are the unstoppable and unbreakable couple. YAY!

We know that Lelia is linked to the necromancer Mircea. If Mircea dies then Lelia dies. If Mircea get hurt so does Lelia. Vlad is doing everything and everything possible to capture Micrea and have him imprisoned in his dungeon until they can break the spell.

What I love best about this book is VLAD!!!! I know, no surprise here, but that man just melts my heart. Flames and all. As I said before Vlad will stop at NOTHING to protect Leila. Swoon eyes right?

The other part of the book I love is the side characters. I love the friends, the relatives and best friends. I want each of them to have his and her own book. I simply just want more.

Into the Fire will suck you in. From the first page you will not put it down, just like EVERY book in this series. I’m so surprised that the author can maintain the pace and momentum, but she does and that is why I LOVE this book and this series so much.

I know a lot of fans have waited a long time for this one and I can tell you this. You will not be disappointed!!!!

At first, I actually laughed at some of the things he comes out with but after a while, his lines become boring and monotonous - all this slapstick stuff!!!

    And....it just continues..................

This series started off well for me but as it progressed, I kind of felt a bit let down. I missed the romance and love that comes across in the Night Huntress Series - Cat & Bones....who never make an appearance in this book and which I really missed!!!!

The ending was meh!!!! Vlad and Leila go off into the sunset to have their HEA!!! Seriously!!! And it looks as if the next book is going to be Ian's......hopefully he's going to be a bit more deeper than we see in this story!!!

If you've read the previous 3 books and love Vlad and Leila, then you will have to read this book!..................like I did..............Despite my feelings.........

Gosh I wanted to love this book so bad, the first three books in the series were amazing, and while this one was enjoyable.... I merely liked it instead of loved it. I remember getting a newsletter about Frost's family, I felt so much for this author. Her mom dying then repeated issues with her dad's health, that's more than anyone should have to take in. Knowing this, as a true fan would do, I understood and knew she needed to take her time to write this book and I think the wait was worth it. (FYI, this is all mentioned in an introduction of the book as well).

I had to reread the entire series before picking up this final book, as I had picked it up and by page 3 I was terribly lost. Hence an epic reread of some of the best PNR there is. No author has the voice that Frost has. So much witty humor and so much emotion packed into her books. There's a reason I'll read anything she publishes.

This fourth novel involves Vlad and Leila working to destroy the link between her and a powerful necromancer. Their bodies and lives are tied together, so if one of them dies, the other does too. But finding the necromancer proves to be more difficult than anticipated.

My favorite part of this book was the crossover of the character Ian. That man no doubt was the best part, bringing endless comic relief and making me laugh my ass off out loud in public. I swear this man needs his own spin off-ASAP!

The flawed aspect of this book is it's almost information overload and focuses more on action than the romance and relationship between Leila and Vlad. I can understand why fans were let down by this book.

The Night Prince series is one you must read! Look past the god awful covers and you'll discover one of your favorite romance couples!
